Now is the time to finish the Diablo 4 campaign
Diablo 4's first season, "Season of the Villainous," launches on July 20 — and it almost sounds like a mini-expansion pack for Blizzard's hit dungeon crawler game. This season brings a new questline that takes place after the events of the main campaign, as well as new game mechanics around insertable vicious hearts, which will make your character stronger and enable "stupid shattering" New character builds. It also interacts with Diablo IV Gold first battle pass, unlocking new cosmetics and rewards for seasonal characters.
But going into this season there are two important requirements. The first - well-known, if not well-understood - is that you need to create a fresh level 1 seasonal character to participate in the season.
The second requirement is lesser known, but Blizzard confirmed it in an FAQ posted to the official Diablo website on Thursday. You'll need to complete the Diablo 4 campaign on a character to access seasonal content on or after July 20.
In a way, this makes perfect sense. The season's storyline follows that of the campaign, and the "Vicious Heart" mechanic is clearly meant to complement those already familiar with the game's systems. In Diablo and its ilk, a season is often understood as a new level-up challenge for experienced players.
On the other hand, there are a number of reasons why you may not have completed the Diablo 4 campaign. This is also a side effect of the game being structured differently than previous Diablo games.
Whereas in Diablo 2 there was nothing to do but repeat the linear campaign, in Diablo 3 the alternate campaign in the game's free-form adventure mode only occurs after the first campaign run is complete and will be open. In Diablo 4, however, you can easily level up your character (and have a good time) by doing side quests, running dungeons, exploring the open world, or buying gear in MMoexp, without touching the campaign quests. Level scaling works throughout the game, and most areas of the world are available for exploration. I hung out like this for my first week or two in the game, only recently realizing that if I wanted to join in on the seasonal fun, I'd better move on.
What's the fastest way to complete the Diablo 4 campaign?

The event has six acts (plus a short prologue and epilogue).
Acts 1-3 are the most important and can be done in any order. They also branch out into multiple tasks in different places. You can do with them all you want, but boringly doing them in numerical order makes the most sense.
Once you've done those three things, you've broken the back lane of the game. Acts 4 to 6 need to be done in a linear order and don't take as long as the first three acts. Although Act V is quite long, Acts IV and VI are relatively short.
While the quests don't have strict level requirements, each act has a recommended starting character level: Act 1 is level 1, Act 2 is level 10, Act 3 is level 15, Act 4 is level 30, and Act 4 is level 35 Level 5 for level 35, level 40 for Act 6 (although level 45 might be safer).
