Skull and Bones: All Factions (& Where To Find Them)

Jan-24-2025 PST

In Skull and Bones, the factions play a central role in shaping the dynamics of the game, each offering distinct territories, playstyles, and interactions with players. Here's a breakdown of all the current factions (and where to find them), plus a look at the megacorporations and local groups vying for control of the Seven Seas:

Local Factions

Sea People

Location: Eastern and southern Red Isles

Playstyle: Nomadic, peaceful but mystical people, mostly nonviolent.

Main Settlement: Tenina Town

Details: The Sea People live an isolated life, rarely settling down. Their conflicts are mostly centered around defending their territory, particularly against the Clan of Fara. They remain a peaceful faction, focused on survival and spiritual practices.

Clan of Fara

Location: Western and northern Red Isles

Playstyle: Aggressive warriors who were once farmers.

Main Settlement: Ankohonana

Details: Fiercely protective of their land, the Clan of Fara is known for their warrior culture. Their aggression makes them a significant threat in the Red Isles region. They'll fight anyone who challenges their territory.

Confederation of Ungwana

Location: Northern Africa

Playstyle: Tribal warriors, more interested in trade than war.

Main Settlement: Jiwe

Details: Rooted in African traditions, the Confederation of Ungwana focuses on trading precious resources like ivory, but they don't trust newcomers easily. They'll make you earn their respect, but their hunting and warrior skills make them a force to be reckoned with if challenged.

Megacorporations

Dominion of Rempah

Location: Northern East Indies

Playstyle: Traders by nature, but willing to fight for dominance in the textile and spice markets.

Main Settlement: Suny

Details: The Dominion of Rempah is a group of would-be traders who are locked in conflict with the more powerful Dutch Merchant Company. While they aspire to trade rather than fight, they aren't afraid to engage in naval combat if pushed. Their presence is concentrated in the East Indies, making the region a hotbed of trade and warfare.

Dutch Merchant Company (DMC)

Location: Southern East Indies

Playstyle: A powerful, state-backed corporation seeking to dominate the East Indies.

Main Settlement: Oosten Capital

Details: The Dutch Merchant Company is heavily supported by the Dutch government, giving them substantial power. With their focus on survival and profit, they're a formidable force in the East Indies. Their massive ships and fleets can be intimidating, making them one of the strongest factions.

Compagnie Royale (French)

Location: Eastern Red Isles and Southern Africa

Playstyle: Trade-driven, business-first faction.

Main Settlement: La Bastide

Details: The Compagnie Royale is less focused on warfare and more on building profitable trade networks. With their far-reaching presence, especially in both the Red Isles and Africa, they are one of the more influential factions in Skull and Bones. They will trade with anyone, regardless of whether they are pirates or peaceful merchants.
