Skull and Bones: How to Kill Water Enemies

Oct-10-2024 PST

In Skull and Bones, as you navigate treacherous waters, you'll encounter various water-based enemies like sharks and crocodiles that can pose a serious threat to your ship. These fierce creatures are not easy to avoid, especially when sailing in a smaller boat. Luckily, you can use a spear to defend your ship. Here's how you can handle water enemies effectively.

Step 1: Using the Spear

Early in the game, you might not have cannons or heavy weaponry or Skull and Bones Items on your ship, which makes the spear your primary defense against water enemies.

When you sail through infested waters, sharks or other predators may attack your boat. A prompt may appear indicating the need to use your spear, but it may be too brief or vague.

Step 2: Engaging the Enemy

Right-click and hold to aim the spear when an enemy, like a shark, comes close enough to attack your ship.

Steer your ship carefully to avoid running into land or obstacles while simultaneously aiming the spear. Timing and precision are key, as you must keep the spear steady to strike the attacking creature.

Don't rush - try to keep the ship at a manageable speed, so you're not caught off-guard by sudden attacks or terrain. Slowing down also gives you a better chance to land a hit.

Step 3: Defeating the Water Enemies

Once you've aimed the spear at the shark or crocodile, strike quickly to deal damage. Most water enemies will require a few hits to be fully defeated, so be persistent.

Pay attention to the patterns in which these enemies attack. Sharks, for example, may circle your ship, giving you multiple chances to stab them before they retreat or launch another attack.

Save Your Silver: Preparing for the Blaster Sloop Upgrade

As you take on these encounters and progress through the game, remember to save your Skull and Bones Silver. The Blaster Sloop is a crucial upgrade available at level 4 (Buccaneer), and it significantly boosts your naval capabilities. Be mindful of your spending to ensure you can afford this powerful ship when the time comes.

By mastering the spear and staying smart about your resource management, you'll be ready to defend your ship and succeed in Skull and Bones' hostile waters.
